Our academic programme at SBC at Eton College, offers students between the ages of 12-16 years old the opportunity to further their knowledge of key mainstream school subjects: Mathematics, Sciences, Humanities and General English. All subjects are taught in English using a communicative approach, so that in addition to learning about the subject itself, all students will develop their confidence in using English communicatively, collaboratively, and creatively.
All students will participate in Masterclasses in Maths, Sciences and Humanities which are run by Guest Speakers who are experts in their field. Our Masterclass programme provides students with the opportunity to appreciate the value of different academic disciplines and fields of study.
The Guest Speakers will focus on exploring the range and scope of potential study and employment in each field while also talking about the value that each of these disciplines adds to our world. Workshops are interactive and allow students to ask questions to deepen their understanding of each subject and to think about it in a different light.
Time to Shine Overview
The Academic Programme culminates with our Time to Shine Ceremony. On the final afternoon of each course, our classes will present their final research project to their peers. Time to Shine provides every student with the opportunity to showcase their subject knowledge, improved confidence and newfound presentation skills, as well as congratulate each other on their academic achievements.
